What does booking involve?I have been in music ministry since the fall of 2002, and have been “on the road” since the summer of 2003! It has certainly made my ordinary life…extraordinary! I made the decision to and stuck with the commitment of offering myself/gifts back to the Lord. In turn, He is opening doors toward spiritual/musical growth that I could never have fathomed existed. I am at the point now where I anticipate leading worship around 90 times in 2008!
Please note that I used the words “lead worship”. Although there is an element of performance, I play for God and all the glory is His. The music falls under the categories of Praise & Worship, Christian Contemporary, Hymns, & Spirituals. I display biblically based lyrics on a screen or wall behind me, and encourage whoever is in the room to join in with singing, clapping, dancing, etc.
I/we usually show up to new churches/venues 2-3 hours early. That gives enough time to set-up, soundcheck, and fellowship. I will bring my own laptop and projector. However, I do ask that you provide a screen and a table for merchandise. -
How much does booking cost?This is usually the first question, but a very difficult one to answer. Each event is unique, and I like to treat it as so. Cost is always worked out over the phone and depends on 3 factors:
NUMBER OF MUSICIANS-
Naturally, it's more expensive to invite the band than it is to have just myself solo acoustic. We also have variations of the band that we can bring, from 3 piece (guitar/bass/drums) to the addition of some fun stuff (flute, sax, keyboard, fiddle, etc).
SOUND-
We would rather use house sound systems and operators. However, we recently purchased our own sound & lighting equipment! Naturally, I usually ask for more when we have to supply & run our own sound.
TRAVEL-
We are based out of Fredericksburg, VA. If you are located a considerable distance away, then I ask for assistance with travel expenses. Also, I ask that you provide housing if it's unsafe (i.e., too late, calling for bad weather) to drive back that night. This does not have to be a hotel room...staying with host families is always a fun time for fellowship!
*You'll receive a contract/agreement soon after we agree on a price that will fit your budget. Also, you are welcome to use a love offering (to help pay the cost or supplement it) at your discretion. -
